There are so many types and kinds of inks. Here is the basic rundown so you know what to look for.

Dye Inks - Most of your inks will be dye inks. They work very well, and dry quickly. Wash your stamps well after use to prevent staining.

Embossing Ink - This ink stays wet longer so the embossing powder will stick to it.

Pigment Ink - They are thicker and dry more slowly than the dye inks. They are cheaper, but not quite as nice as dye inks.

Watercolor Ink (or markers) - These are wonderful to add that special painted look to your cards or stamping projects.
