~What to look
for in buying stamps~
Tips and tricks for
rubber stamping!
When buying stamps, be careful. Stamps range in price and quality. Here are some tips to look for a good quality stamp that will last you a lifetime. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. The wooden stamps are SO much nicer than the foam ones. They last longer, and are much easier to use. 2. Look at the stamp, is it clear and well raised? I find the discount stores sell stamps much cheaper, but the clarity of the stamped image is not there. Take a close look before buying. 3. Is it glued onto the cushion well? Is the wood sanded and clear coated? The nicer stamps have the excess rubber trimmed away. If you are mounting your own stamps, trim around the stamp to remove the excess rubber. This will help prevent extra marks on your paper when stamping. Make sure not to cut too close! 4. If you are mounting your own stamp, mount it on the bottom left hand corner if you are right handed, and the bottom right hand corner if you are left handed, not in the center of the stamp. This will help you see exactly where you are placing your stamp on the paper. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
